We went to a place last night where you sit at the beach at sunset and wait for these tiny penguins called "Little Penguins" to all come ashore. They wait in the water until it gets dark and then they swim onto to the beach in groups for safety. Then you watch them come up the beach all following each other until they head for the sand dunes where they have their burrows. They are so adorable! There were likely about 2000 of them. They spend all day out at sea feeding and then come in at night. They can also spend up to 4 weeks out at sea feeding! While they were starting to come up the beach, a huge full moon rose up through the clouds. It was quite spectacular. Unfortunately no photos were allowed as the flash from cameras can scare them and blind the penguins!
